Emir of Lafia, Agwai, dies at 83

The Emir of Lafia in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Isa Mustapha Agwai 1 has died. He was born on 15 February 1935.

The late traditional ruler was from the Aliyu Ari royal house.
The Madaki of Lafia, Alhaji Isyaka Dauda confirmed the death on Thursday evening.
The Emir has been ill for some time now.
He was the Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs.
The late Emir attended the then Benue Provincial Middle School, Katsina Ala, Benue State. Among his classmates are the Middle school are Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd), Brigadier-General Atom Kpera (rtd), Commissioner of Police Abubakar Tsav (rtd) and Commodore Husseini Abdullahi (rtd).
Having successfully completing his secondary school from the Katsina Ala Middle School in 1958, he registered at the Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1958 and obtained his Diploma certificate in Accountancy 1959.
He joined the service of Lafia Native Authority where he served as assistant treasurer, revenue officer and later pay-master in charge of the entire market of Lafia Native Authority.
He held the positions of the traditional title of Dan Galadiman and District head of Obi.
