The Kebbi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Abubakar Sarkin Fawa Dambo has embarked on inspection of BVAS configuration ahead of the bye elections scheduled for the February 5.
INEC Head of Publicity and Voters Education in Kebbi State, Muhammed Rabiu said the exercise which started this week at the State Office in Birnin Kebbi was to ensure that the BVAS were in good shape and were well prepared for the bye-elections.
He said the new REC who resumed office in December last year had personally inspected and interacted with the technicians handling the BVAS configuration to see that there were no disappointments arising from failure of the BVAS during the elections.
He said “the REC in his usual magnanimity and feeling proud of the work done by the technicians personally compensated them.
“With this development, it’s no doubt that INEC is ready for the February bye elections in Kebbi State to conducted in the Yauri-Shanga-Federal Constituency as well as Arewa-Dandi Federal Constituency”.
