Governor’s aide empowers five hundred beneficiaries in Kebbi to boost petty trade

The Personal Assistant to Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State, Aminu Musa, has given cash assistance to five hundred people to boost their mini businesses being ran in various homes in line with the Governor’s principal of human resources development.

Performing the ceremony in Birnin Kebbi,, the political aide urged the female beneficiaries to use the money to improve their petty trade in order to keep their homes running taking into consideration of their status as vulnerable members of the society.

He said as mothers, widows, divorces and unmarried youths they owed the society a duty of making good use of the resources to build their homes, adding that the only path to higher heights of development was through hard work and dedication.

Aminu Musa however changed the male beneficiaries to ensure judicious utilization of the assistance to grow their businesses being heads of the family with so many competing demands from their nuclear and extended families.

He reminded them that as families breadwinners they should thrive to boost their trades because of family demands like school fees, hospital bills, rent and above all the day to day provision of meals to the entire households.

In her remarks, one of the beneficiaries, Halima Sani, said: “We are grateful for the assistance because it wiil go a long way in boosting our trades. We shall do our best to help our husbands, children and relations. We will have some savings to fall back to during ceremonies and rainy days”

“Most of our trades are petty. We do sale hibiscus juice, soy milk, beni seed cakes, tiger nut milk, fura, bean cakes, confectioneries, makeups and so many others including groundnut cakes. This assistance has come at the right time when several familiar have collapsed due to hard times. Thank you Aminu P A for the support”, she further revealed.
