Hon. Terwase delivers on his legislative agenda despite Covid-19

As Benue State and indeed the entire country continue to grapple with Corona Virus pandemic, economic and social activities has continued to worsen.

For months governance is on clutches due to shutdowns. Resources meant for social and infrastructural development are being expanded to cushion effects of the corona pandemic. And for many public officer holders it is an excuse to abandon projects. But for Hon. Terwase Aondokaa, Member, representing Makurdi South at the Benue House of Assembly, and Chairman, House Committee on Agric. and Natural Resources, his legislative agenda can’t wait just because of Covid-19 effects. Speaking to Star Rays recently in Makurdi, the legislator highlighted his major achievements for this legislative year.

The House Member who identify water as the major challenge of his constituents said he has dug four boreholes and rehabilitate existing ones. He has equally constructed several culverts and ensure sanitary condition of the environment. That is not all, Hon Aondoakaa having identify health challenge among constituents, the urgent need to embark on free medical outreach became imperative.

Immediately, at the rehabilitation centre Apir, a two-day medical care was conducted where vulnerable sick constituents who can not afford medical care services were treated.

Farmers are not being left out of his intervention. Farmers’ desire for mechanized farming is already receiving a boost. Specifically, the legislator has purchased and distributed 20 pumping machines to farmers to encourage dry season farming. Interestingly, the benefits of dry season farming can’t be overemphasized in the modern day agriculture. And with the supply of about 20 pumping machines its boost are immense as only one of the machines could be used by many farmers.

Hon. Aondoakaa contribution during the Covid-19 debacles another monumental minestrone. He has distributed relief materials, hand sanitizers, food items to mention a few, to thousands of constituents. The gesture according to him is aimed at ameliorating the plight of people being experienced during Corona Virus.
Also speaking on the emergence of the new council administration of Makurdi Local Government, he said the administration should focus on feeder roads construction and portable water supply which has become nagging challenge to the people.
