Governor Agbu Kefas has expressed profound gratitude to the people of Taraba State, particularly those from the Southern Zone, for the honour bestowed upon him through a civic reception.

Speaking at the event in Wukari, the governor described the occasion not merely as a celebration, but as a moment of unity and shared purpose.

He acknowledged the concerns raised by citizens over the past two years, especially regarding road construction, and assured them that his administration remains focused on delivering tangible results.

Governor Kefas noted that he has worked to maintain peace across the state and has taken steps to restore the dignity of traditional institutions.

While admitting he is not perfect, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to always do his best for the people of Taraba, stating that it is his responsibility to act in their best interest.

He acknowledged the financial challenges facing the state but assured the gathering that his travels outside the state are strictly to engage potential partners who can support Taraba’s development—not for personal pleasure.

The civic reception, organized by the people of Southern Taraba comprising Wukari, Takum, Donga, Ussa, and Yangtu LGAs, was convened in recognition of the governor’s leadership and achievements.

In his welcome address, Chairman of the Civic Reception Planning Committee, John Mamman, said the event was initiated by the Aku Uka of Wukari, the Gara of Donga, and the Chief of Takum.

He commended community leaders and the people of the Southern Zone for their support in making the event a success.

Mamman further expressed confidence in Governor Kefas’ leadership, congratulating him and praying for divine strength to guide his administration.

Also speaking at the event, former Governor Jolly Nyame advised Governor Kefas to remain steadfast, reminding him that both good and challenging times are part of leadership.

Nyame disclosed that during the recent Taraba International Investment Summit, a friend from the United Kingdom offered to build five-star hotels in Jalingo, an opportunity he believes will support the state’s growth.

He added that he has forgiven those who wronged him in the past and called on Tarabans to rally behind Governor Kefas, who, he said, has good intentions for the state.

In his remarks, His Royal Majesty, Manu Ishaku, the Aku Uka of Wukari, praised Governor Agbu Kefas for his giant stride achievements in security, education, health care, and agriculture, among many sectors, describing him as a worthy son who had made the people of Southern Taraba proud.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of an award to Governor Agbu Kefas by the Gara of Donga on behalf of the people of Southern Taraba, in recognition of his visionary leadership and service to the state.
