I’m satisfied with conduct of Local government election – Taraba Governor Ishaku

Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful  conduct of local government election in the state.
Ishaku who said this shortly after casting his vote at his Sarkin Jukun unit in Takum Tuesday added that reports he received from across the state indicated that the conduct of the election was peacefull.
“My Deputy Haruna Manu has just called me and informed me that the election in Taraba central zone was peaceful and from all indications in Taraba northern zone the election is equally peaceful” Ishaku said.
The Governor explained that the election in Southern Taraba was peaceful which is a credit to the state independent electoral commission for organising a free and fair election.
He further added  that there was no imposition of candidates for the election adding that most candidates emerged on consensus.

He also said All Progressives Congress which opted out of the election was signatory to the 30 June date for the election and wondered why the party opted out.
