It’s not a grinding machine. It’s used to prepare one of Nigeria’s loved menus. What is it?

“Necessity is the mother of invention” and that might be what prompted the invention of this pounded yam machine.
A local fabrication seen at a road side eatery at Assakio in Nasarawa State along Lafia to Shendam in Plateau State. Powered like a electricity generator, it has a propeller fitted from the bottom of a pot. Boiled yam is poured into the pot and the generator rope is pulled to start and within four minutes, pounded yam is ready, smooth without roughness like the one pounded with a pestle and mortar. It saves time, sweat and physical energy in preparing one of Nigeria’s loved menus.
What an innovation, easy to operate.
