Kebbi Executive Council holds validetory session in honour of late Emir of Zuru

The Kebbi State Executive Council (SEC) has held a validetory session in honour of late Emir of Zuru, Maj.-Gen. Muhammad Sani Sami, (rtd), Gomo II.
The SEC’s validetory session, which was chaired by the Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Sen. Umar Abubakar Tafida, extolled the virtues of the late emir and offered prayer for God Almighty to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
Addressing journalists shortly after the SEC meeting in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Shehu Ma’azu said the council acknowledged the contributions of the late Gomo II.
He said the emir would surely be remembered for his fatherly role in maintaining peace and order in the state, adding that the deceased had brought his wealth of military experience to bear.
According to the commissioner, the late royal father, who served the state as a father, brother and a mentor had been instrumental to many key policy decisions that had transformed the lives of the good people of Kebbi State.
Ma’azu said the meeting also deliberated on flood issues threatening the state, where the council called on people of the state to compliment the efforts of the state government by clearing their drainages to avert flooding.
He added that the council also discussed issues related to the ongoing voter registration in the country and urged government officials to go back to their respective local government areas to enlighten and mobilise their people on the importance of the exercise.
The commissioner disclosed that the council had also constituted a committee under the chairmanship of the state commissioner for agriculture that would look into farmer/herder conflicts with a view to proffering lasting solution to the lingering crises.
