Kebbi Government to reconstruct washed away bridges, roads

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has promised to reconstruct the washed away bridges and roads destroyed by flood in Suru and Maiyama Local Government Areas of the state.
He made the pledge while inspecting the washed away bridge along Suru-Kawara-Dakingari road as well as some rice farms destroyed by the flood in Suru Local Government Area on Tuesday.
Governor Idris said the state government would rehabilitate the damaged bridges and reconstruct the bad roads, adding that the present administration would also continue to assist farmers whose farms were destroyed for effective food production in the state.
Also speaking, a member of the State House of Assembly representing Suru, Faruku Maisudan, APC chairmanship candidate of Suru, Mohd lawal and Village Head of Kawara, commended Governor Idris for his quck response by visiting the sites of the damaged roads and bridges.
The governor also inspected the washed away bridge along Jega-Mayalo road in Maiyama local government area during which he was conducted round by the District Head of Mayalo, Malam Abubakar Marafa.

The State Chief Executive assured them that the state government would rehabilitate the bridge, and to the farmers whose crops were submerged in flood waters , Government would provide necessary assistance to them.
The governor also inspected the washed away culvert along Diggi road, where the District Head of Diggi, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku-Diggi told the governor that the culvert which was the major motorable way to and fro his domain was washed away as a result of heavy down pour, causing serious concerns to the people of the area.
Responding, the governor assured the people of the area that the state government would rehabilitate the culvert because of its socioeconomic relevance to the community.
