Kebbi Governor Idris presents score card after one year in office

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has eulogized the people of the state amidst records of one year success story of his administration’s stewardship in office in a statewide broadcast in Birnin Kebbi.

He thanked the people of the state for standing by him in his endless struggle to improve their socioeconomic wellbeing, stressing that “unity and compassion has been the beacon of hope of my administration with sincerity of purpose. We shall continue to uphold the spirit of togetherness to serve you better.” 

On the score card of his Administration, Governor Idris said “Within the one year in office, my administration has made positive impact on prevalence of security that enabled farmers to go back to the farm, provided youths empowerment and enhanced agricultural production through the distribution of free fertiliser and other farm implements to farmers,” he said.

Comrade Nasir Idris also highlighted the achievements recorded in the provision of portable drinking water, regular electricity supply to people in the metropolis and other localities to boost small scale businesses. 

” The government has procured 40 transformers of 550KVA capacity for distribution and installation to appropriate areas to boost power supply and several water schemes have been rehabilitated and equipped with solar- powered energy,” the governor announced. 

He gave a directive for the equalisation of salaries of medical doctors working under the state government similar to what obtained by doctors at Federal level to prevent the migration of doctors from the state to greener pasture. 

On investment, the governor announced that his recent foreign trip has yielded positive result because many investment offers from potential investors have already been received

‘I am also determined to boost international tourism in the state through cultural festivals of Horse Racing in Gwandu, Intenational Fishing and Cuktural Festival in Argungu, Rigata in Yauri and Uhola in Zuru emirates respectively in order to attract more investors into the state,” he added. 

On education, the Governor said in his capacity as a professional teacher, he had placed premium on the development of the sector through infrastructural development in schools as well as the provision of requisite instructional materials.
