Minister of Labour and Employment Simon Bako Lalong has described the death of former Chief of Army Staff General Chris Alli as a huge loss to the nation and Plateau State in particular.
Lalong said Gen. Chris Alli who was a former Military Governor of Plateau State and later Interim Administrator during the period of state of emergency imposed on the state, will be remembered for being a man of integrity, dignity and excellence.
This was contained in a statement by Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Special Adviser on Media to Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment.
He said the late Military Chief exhibited a high sense of loyalty, patriotism and commitment to national service, peace, reconciliation and security during his lifetime both in service and in retirement.
Lalong said the role played by Gen. Chris Alli in finding peace and encouraging reconciliation, truth and forgiveness in Plateau State cannot be forgotten as his efforts made it easier for the Rescue Administration which he superintend over between 2015-2023 to galvanise the people and build institutions which are pivotal to security.
While consoling the family of the deceased over the loss, the Labour and Employment Minister prayed that God will give them comfort and the ability to carry on with his legacies of service to humanity and love without discrimination.
