Let’s celebrate Comrade Governor Nasir Idris, role model for new generation politicians at 60

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has on Wednesday, 6th August, 2025, clocked 60 years of age.

The birthday anniversary celebration has coincided with the ceaseless celebration of the purposeful leadership being provided by the Comrade Governor that changes the narrative of the socio-economic development of the state.

Within the last two weeks, organised associations, ex councillors and state House of Assembly members and leadership of Non-Govermental organisations have been trooping to Birnin Kebbi and RE-ECHOED
their appreciation and continuous support for the continuity of President Tinubu and Comrade Governor Nasir Idris administration beyond 2027.

At intervals, Comrade Nasir kauran Gwandu has also been visiting communities mostly affected by the seasonal natural disaster of flood or windstorm, sympathise and providing money and materials to alleviate their suffering.

Undoubtedly, the multiple celebrations are demonstration of the recognition of the ability, capacity and political will of Comrade Governor Nasir Idris as translated into the execution and implementation of viable infrastructure and result oriented economic empowerment programmes.

As prominent politicians, traditional rulers, members of the business community, corporate organisations, farmers associations, and representatives of the organised labour have continue to pay birthday congratulatory visit through visitation and messages.

Since the beginning of the historic year in the life of the Comrade Governor, he had been receiving commendations from notable Nigerians of high reputation at different forums.

The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr Umar Abdullahi Ganduje had identified Comrade Nasir kauran Gwandu as one of the three most performing Governors of the party while the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs Alhaji Kabiru Ibrahim Masari testified to the fact that the Governor is in the good books of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in view of his concern and commitment to the infrastructural development of Kebbi State.

Similarly, the chairman of the North West Development Commission, Professor Bello had at a courtesy visit revealed that he had been advised by some prominent leaders to study Comrade Governor Nasir Idris’ development model for the implementation of the commission’s developmental programmes.

Also, worthy of note was the National President of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Comrade Audu Titus Amba was the description of Comrade Governor Kauran Gwandu as the most teacher-friendly governor in the country having initiated, as the then National President of the Nigerian Union of Teachers elongation of the years of retirement for both primary and secondary schools teachers from thirty-five years of service to forty years and sixty years of age to sixty years and the first state Governor to implement it.

In his 60th birthday anniversary goodwill message to Governor Nasir Idris, Umar Dikko Radda of Katsina State and the chairman of the North West Governors forum described Governor Nasir as a resourceful member of the forum whose suggestions have strengthen the harmonious relationships among the members.
