Late Madam Joy Eze

A cleric, Clement Ugwu, has challenged Christians to strive to live holy lives within the confines of the words of God.

Preaching at Okka, Itchi in Igbo Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State during the burial service of Madam Joy Eze, nee Amedu, Pastor Ugwu said it has become necessary for people to live according to the dictates of the word of God because nobody knows when his or her own night would come.

Late Mrs. Joy Eze was the mother of Alphonsus Nweze, Editor of Niger Times Newspapers, Onitsha, Anambra State and Correspondent of Apex News Exclusive, an online and monthly magazine publication.

Speaking on the theme: “Sadness and Joy”, Pastor Ugwu who was a missionary to Namibia on the platform of ‘Time No Longer Ministries’, noted that as human, one was bound to be sad when any of his beloved died even after over 100 years on this planet earth because he would still feel the vacuum the absence has created.

The pastor admonished during the burial ceremony conducted by the Grace of God Church, Itchi where Mrs Eze was a devoted member until her death, saying that on the contrary there would be joy if that person died righteous.

He asked Christians not to bereave as people without hope when they lost their beloved ones since there is hope of meeting him/her on the ressuection morning.

The pastor said that this called for people to live Holy as there might be no opportunity when their night comes.

Pastor Ugwu lamented that these are days when we cannot distinguish between Christian and non-Christian again because some people have one leg in the Church, the other in idolatory.

In his brief remarks before the remains of Mrs Eze was committed to the mother earth at her family compound, the Senior Pastor at the Grace of God Church Itchi, Rev. Chineliwu Kenneth, extolled the virtues of late Mrs Eze and her commitment to the things of God when she was alive.

He called on her children, grand children and great grand children to emulate their departed mother.

Present at the burial ceremony were Hon. Harrison Ogara, Member representing Igbo-Eze South State Constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly, and his elder brother, Mr. Andrew Ogara, a development specialist, members of Nsukka Platform (NPF), Asaba, Delta State led by their Chairman, Dr. Leonard Abonyi,a consultant at Federal Medical Centre, Asaba where the first son of late Mrs. Joy Eze, Alphonsus Nweze lives.
