NBA sets to build secretariat in Keffi

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Keffi branch in Nasarawa State has commenced the building of NBA Secretariat to enhance the effectiveness of the profession.

Laying the foundation of the multimillion naira project, the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe said in every society little project leads to giant establishment.
Dr. Akabe who represented the Governor of Nasarawa State Engr. Abdullahi Sule expressed a profound gratitude to the leadership of NBA Keffi branch for the great decision to build a befitting secretariat for the association.
He added that the relationship between the Executive and Judiciary in the state is cordial, adding that, the governor will leave no stone unturned, but squeeze water out of stone to ensure the project is completed within an expected time.

Earlier, the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Hon. Justice Aisha Aliyu Bashir applauded NBA Keffi for hitting the bull’s eye by building a secretariat for members not only in Keffi but it will serve the entire state.
The CJ who was represented by Justice S. A. Ayiwulu narrated his ordeal during his tenure as NBA State Chairman who could not afford building a secretariat for members.

On his part, the Attorney General of Nasarawa State and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Abdulkareem Kana disclosed that the plot of land accommodating the building is donated by the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State as support to the efficiency of the bench and members.
Kana who is the pioneer branch chairman of the association in Keffi, from 2014 to 2016 said the project serves as a standing legacy of the current Exco.
In his welcome speech, the branch Chairman NBA Keffi, Barrister Moses Yakubu Ede said the association under his stewardship has experience a tremendous development, NBA Sets to build a befitting Secretariat in Nasarawa
