Pensioners in Taraba State have been told to be calm over the non implementation of the *N30,000 Minimum by the end of October, 2025 as promised by the State Government.

Chairman Nigeria Union of Pensioners Taraba State Council comrade El-Nathan Bila Auta stated this in Jalingo Capital of Taraba State.

El-Nathan Bila Auta Bila explained that although the minimum wage has not been implemented as expected, the good news is that all stakeholders in the matter including the Office of the State Head of Service and the NLC have concluded their own part awaiting the consent of the State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas which will likely be signed in due course and be implemented by the State Ministry of Finance.

He advised Pensioners in the State to be more prayerful and supportive to the officials for solutions to all their predicaments.

“Pensioners should be more prayerful, supportive and dedicated to the Union to enable the officials to continue to struggle for the realization of all our entitlements from the Government” El-Nathan said.

The NUP State Chairman appealed to Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas to kindly sympathies with the plight of Pensioners in the State and settle all their entitlements to enable them solve their immediate challenges of life.

“Pensioners are the most vulnerables to diseases and hunger in the society, majority are suffering from various ailments and because of non payment of our entitlements we can’t afford good, sometimes even a single meal daily is a problem nor medication leading to untimely death most of our children are sent out of school for lack of school fees and many ejected from our rented houses infact to the least, the problems of Pensioners in Taraba State are substantial and compounded” the Chairman lamented.

El-Nathan Bila Auta said it will be a great success to the political carrier of Governor Agbu Kefas if he is able to settle all the entitlements of Pensioners within his first term in office, by that he will not only go down in history as the first Governor that takes care of the olderly but also the first to implement any increase in the pension of retirees after 34 years of the creation of Taraba State.

“Infact Governor Kefas would done himself a good calculation towards his bid for a second term if he holistically look at the problems of Pensioners and solve them at once, just like he is doing to education, Agriculture and other sectors, by treating the predicaments of Pensioners he will definately get a block vote of over 40,000 Pensioner’s households and their families in Taraba State” he further said.

He said Pensioners are partners in progress with the Stste Government and urged Governor Kefas to complete his campaign for 2027 from now by paying all the Pensions and gratuities as well as implement both the N30,000 and 70,000 minimum wage at go to Pensioners which has been implemented to workers and Pensioners alike in almost all the States in Nigeria.
