The need for all hands to be on deck in the fight against terrorism has been stressed.
Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State made the assertion in Owerri during a South East Security Summit convened by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris.
The Governor who was represented by the Chairman Vigilante Supervisory Committee, Chief Ikechukwu Aduba, a retired Police Commissioner, counted lack of synergy amongst security agencies as the major reason for insecurity in the country.
He called on other states in the country to adopt the Anambra security style for a better community policing.
The Governor said if all stakeholders get involved in security, the recent security challenges in the country will be a thing of the past.
The one-day summit had its theme as “community policing: rethinking national security framework for national development”, was well attended by government functionaries, traditional rulers, captains of industry among others from the South East region.
