The Governor of Anambra State and Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) Chief Willie Obiano has expressed shock over the sudden death of the National Organising Secretary of the party, Akunwata Mike Kwentoh.
Kwentoh, a native of Onitsha, Anambra State, a fine gentleman and staunch party stalwart, a member of the prestigious and traditional Agbalanze society, Onitsha and a sound professional engineer, died recently.
Grieving over the heartbreaking loss, Governor Obiano lamented the demise of Kwentoh at a time the party and Ndi Anambra needed his wise and profitable counsel.
“This is a sad loss for Ndi Anambra and APGA. This tragedy struck at a critical time in the state and country, but particularly in the Party which just lost one of its most trusted generals ahead of the 2019 elections.”
Continuing, Obiano eulogised Kwentoh as a quintessential and charismatic leader, a trusted ally and a faithful friend who played a major role in his famous 21/21 victory at the polls in 2017.
He observed that Kwentoh’s jovial and convivial nature endeared him to many who crossed his path in life.
“Truly in the midst of life, death surrounds us. Akunwata Mike Kwentoh is dead, but he will be remembered for his legacies and good works in this life.
He served the party, Ndi Anambra and his country meritoriously in various capacities. He was also a good husband and father. We condole with his family and pray for the peaceful repose of his soul.
Chief Kwentoh was also a former Chairman of APGA in Anambra State and was the National Organising Secretary of the party until his death. His family will announce his burial rites and obsequies.
