Operation Lafiya Dole: Buratai inaugurates camp Delta, combato edifice in Maiduguri

Operation Lafiya Dole Theater Command and the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, yesterday, inaugurated Camp Delta Operation Response force to provide quick response and reinforcement in the fight against insurgency and Combato building to provide restaurant, gymnastic and relaxation centre for troops in the front line of the theater.
Commissioning the Camp Delta force at the headquarters of 7 Division of the Nigerian Army at the Maimalari cantonment, Maiduguri on Thursday, the Chief of Army Staff, (COAS), Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai said “As part of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), the commissioning of the Delta force is to provide quick response to troops when ever they receive distress calls.
The Chief of Army Staff represented by the Theater Commander Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Faruk Yahaya said “this initiative was conceived by the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, Brigadier General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim,to respond to any threat in the fight against insurgency and any form of criminality as the quick response force camp Delta is to provide response to any threat and provide place to rest for the Camp Delta Special force’.
He said ” the commissioning of the Camp Delta force was deliberately syncronized to be part of the NADCEL celebration 2020 to celebrate serving and retired officers and solders of the Nigerian Army and showcase their capability ”
“Today many projects are being commissioned in all Army formations and units across the country. Here in the 7 Division were witnessing the commissioning of Camp Delta force and also Comboto building which has restaurant, gymnastics and relaxation centre for our troops that’s 3 in one.
”I assure you of the Nigerian army’s determination to ending insurgency and all other forms of crime across the nation. On behalf of the CoAS I will like to congratulate the GOC 7 Division for successful completion and commissioning of the Combato”, he added.
On the commissioning the Combato building,, the theater Commander said ” my predecessor, General Adeniyi some time in February this year constructed a Combato tent but the tent with not withstand the weather of these areas. When I assumed office, I directed for construction of Combato building on 25th May, 2020 to serve as a special relaxation centre for our troops when they are off duty.

While appreciating the COAS for his support to the theater, General Faruk Yahaya,said we are committed to ensure our mandate of keeping Northeast, as sacrosanct. I therefore call on the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole to redouble efforts, though rainy season has set in, I know as a professionals, we can do it as the COAS has urged us to decisively deal with the insurgents ”
In his welcome address. The Acting GOC 7 Division, Brigadier General Abdul Ibrahim said “on assumption of office as Acting GOC, I saw the need to put in place a befitting Camp Delta Response Reaction force to respond to emergencies and reinforcement to our troops.
“With the force in place Maiduguri and its environs is safe and Maimalari cantonment is impregnantly secured. The Camp Delta force will Also provide s place for our special force to rest after successful response operation’s”, General Ibrahim added.
He assured the COAS and Nigerian in general that they are determined to bring the war against insurgency to an end.
