Petrol station manager killed over missing N40, 000 in Nnewi

A manager of a petrol station in Okpuno, Nnewichi, Nnewi, in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State was reportedly killed by his employer over alleged disappearance of the sum of N40, 000.
The deceased, whose full identity was not verified at the time of filing this report, was said to be a member of Aghazu family in Nnewichi.
Our correspondent gathered that the suspect (name withheld) had asked the deceased to provide the money which he claimed was missing from the company’s purse.
A resident of the area who preferred anonymity said the suspect rejected the deceased’s plea that the money be deducted from his monthly salary.
“The manager pleaded with his employer to bear with him and deduct the said sum from his November salary but the director declined, insisting that the money had to be provided instantly.
“The suspect, in a desperate move to recover the said money, stabbed the deceased several times with a screw driver before he collapsed,” he said.
The man further revealed that the deceased was rushed to the Rose of Sharon Specialist Hospital, Nnewi where he was confirmed dead.
“The suspect disappeared from the hospital immediately his employee was pronounced dead,” the man added.
Our correspondent learnt that the body of the deceased was later taken to an undisclosed destination by police operatives in Nnewi.
The State Police spokesman, Mr. Haruna Mohammed (SP) confirmed the incident but said the headquarters was yet to get full details of it.
