Sam Pam! Many have heard the name. May have felt his impact. Many have experienced his good works, and I am yet to come across anyone who has questioned his character. Many may question why a high profile contender for a position like myself, will be so upfront advocating for another candidate for the same position. The answer is simple, a candle loses no light in lighting another candle. And only a fool will see greatness and call it by another name.
Sam Pam is not your typical politician. He is a technocrat who has spent a better part of his life advocating and utilizing technical expertise to advance our society both within the private and public sector.
Sam Pam is a visionary. He is the sort of person who when given a lemon, instead of dwelling on its soar taste, will turn it into a refreshing beverage. In 2013, when the Plateau State Board of Internal Revenue was in shambles, Governor David Jang called on him to restore order. Being the visionary that he is, he went into action. He turned around this state agency by training and empowering the staff, and providing them with incentives to enhance performance.
Sam Pam did not only revolutionize the the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service, but he digitized the agency, introducing what we know as Tax Identification Number or TIN today. His administration had it’s target set high, ensuring that Plateau State hit the One Billion Naira revenue generation target in a single month for the first time.
This moment calls on us to put aside all our selfish inclinations, be them religious, ethnic, or partisan. Our constituency is in shambles. Our country is at a crossroads. We need leaders who have the unique ability to bring us together, and leverage our diversity to create a constituency and country of our dreams.
Patriotism is more important than leadership. To be deem a patriot, one has to have devotion to, and a vigorous support for one’s country. In the 2023 election cycle, I chose patriotism over my leadership ambition. I choose to stand with Sam Pam because of his unique experiences as a bank executive for 23 years and his astute record as chairman of the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service.
These are challenging times for Nigeria and our constituency. We need a unifier who will work tirelessly to unite the residents of Bassa and Jos-North without sentiments. We need a workaholic who will transform our constituency, and lead the change to transform this country. Sam Pam is the one best prepared to lead this transformation. Sam Pam is the man for the job. Sam Pam is the man for the moment!
