Senator Barau I. Jibrin, Kano North

By Shu’ayb Mustapha Darki

In the Name of Allah the most benificient and the most graceful, I begin. When last year I was watching NTA Live showing the sitting of the National Assembly, I was like dreaming when Sen. Barau I. Jibrin with all sense of humility, commitment and seriousness stood up with smoke issuing-forth from his mouth like one of the chimneys at the then Ajaokuta Steel Company giving his incontrovertible reasons why Kano should have a Federal Polytechnic. I thought he was just on the same wavelength with other Senators who tried and abandoned it halfway through thinking that what the English-efficient and highly vibrant Senator was saying was just a lullaby and that the motion he was moving would end up being thrown in the trashcan.
But as God would have it and by dint of hardworking on the part of the Senator, the dream of the good people of Kano has become a reality as the Federal Government has now approved the establishment of Federal Polytechnic Kabo in Kano State.
We, the people of Kano State are short of words to express our gratitude to Sen. Barau I. Jibrin fondly called Maliya for bringing this giant development to the most populous state in the Nigeria and there is no iota of doubt about the fact that if Sen. Barau is elected Kano State Governor in the forthcoming elections, Kano will rub shoulders with other major cities in the world like Cambridge and Bamingham in terms of quality education because it is globally believed that education is the bedrock of all sorts of development and without education no nation triumphs. And that is why Sen. Barau I. Jibrin sells like hot cakes in Kano because there is no single community you go in Kano without hearing people from different political parties speaking of Sen. Barau I. Jibrin in glowing terms and expressing their total commitment to his cause as well as their readiness to vote for him under the aegis of any political party.
I am sure if Sen. Barau jettisons the APC and decides to run for Kano State governorship under by whichever political party he deems right at least 97 percent of the eligible voters in Kano State will have his back.
