Senator Lalong hosts guests at annual Bit Pol cultural fiesta

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Lalong has hosted friends, political associates and guests to the annual Bit Pol cultural festival in his village of Nyak, Ajikamai Shendam LGA.
The annual cultural festival which holds every first January showcases the dances, food, culture and traditions of the Gamai people who reside within the Pol Chiefdom.
While welcoming guests to the event, Senator Lalong described the event as a symbol of unity, peace and progress among the people of Pol Chiefdom who are proud to uphold, showcase and share the rich culture and traditions of the Gamai people to the rest of the world.
He said during the festival, Nyak sons and daughters around the world return home to reunite with one another and review their successes and challenges as well as address some of the problems confronting the community.
He appreciated his friends, political associates and admirers of the Gamai culture who have consistently honoured their invitation.
Lalong who had recently donated and inaugurated a security post for the NSCDC assured the people that he will do everything within his capacity and also work with other community stakeholders to bring development to the area.

Former Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Idris Wase expressed joy that the former Governor has not only shown leadership outside the State, but remained in touch with his roots and doing well to pursue their well-being.
Similar accolades were offered by Member Representing QuanPan, Shendam, Mikang Federal Constituency Hon. John Dafaan who described Senator Lalong as a man that has brought goodwill and development to his people using every available opportunity.
Other speakers including Hon. Theodore Maiyaki and Hon. Joe Bukar of the Plateau State House of Assembly gave kudos to the people of Pol Chiefdom for sustaining the cultural fiesta over the years and making it an attractive engagement.
There was a display of food varieties, coronation of winner of Miss Pol as well as other side attractions with various masquerade dances spicing up the festival.
