Taraba Governor warns traditional rulers against unauthorised sales of land

Governor Darius Ishaku has reinstated his administration commitment to sanction any traditional ruler who sell land without approval of constituted authority.

The governor sound the warning while presenting staff of office to four third Class Chiefs in the State.

He said no traditional ruler has the
right to give land for mining in any part of the State because of the security threat it pose.

Governor Darius Ishaku told the Chiefs to always work closely with security operatives to track miscreant elements in their domain.

The Governor promised the resolve of his administration to identifying with traditional rulers to protect the custom and traditions of the people.

He congratulated the appointees imploring them to promote ideas on peace for the overall development of the State.

Earlier, Permanent Secretary Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Bello Yero described the presentation of Staff of office to the four third Class Chiefs as another milestone development in the history of Taraba State.

He urged, the traditional rulers to reciprocate Government good intention by providing quality leadership and as well promote peace for the sake of development.

In his vote of thanks on behalf of the appointees Member of the State Judicial Service Commission Musa Tende pledged the unflinching support of all the appointees to the rescue mission of Governor Darius Ishaku.

Tende, promised to work in line with the expectation of the people.

The four third class Chiefs are Mbondua of Kabri, Auwalu Hammanjulde, Kun Arufu Isaac Ezekiel Apakhi, Chief of Bika, Ufeb Joshua Samari and the Kpanti Lonyu, Bitrus Adamu Tajo.

The Governor also sworn in a new Commissioner from Karim Lamido Local Government Area, Ishaya Obidah and Caretaker Chairman for Karim Lamido Local Government Area, Shehu Voks.

Similarly, Governor Darius Ishaku has inaugurated two Permanent Secretaries, Aminu Ayuba and Indo Mackson Mamman including a Member for the State Judicial Service Commission Musa Tende.
