Taraba Muslim pilgrims urged to be good ambassadors in Holy Land

Taraba State Muslim Pilgrims to the Holy land have been urged to be worthy ambassadors.
Governor of the State, Architect Darius Dickson Ishaku who stated this at a farewell ceremony of the 2022 intending Pilgrims in Jalingo also warned them against any criminal tendency and refrain from the use of illicit drugs capable of tarnishing the good image of Taraba State and Nigeria.
Represented by the Deputy Governor Haruna Manu, Governor Ishaku called on the Pilgrims to pray more than ever before for the State and the country considering the numerous challenges bedeviling the nation and wish them a successful, acceptable and a rewarding pilgrimage. Executive Secretary Taraba State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Umar Chiroma said a total of six hundred and fifty four Pilgrims are performing this year’s pilgrimage out of which one hundred are sponsored by the State Government.
Umar Chiroma advised the Pilgrims to always contact officials of the Board and Ulamas for any information and assistance and to use their Basic Traveling Allowances (BTA), wisely to avoid untold hardships.
The Amirul Hajj, Hamman Adama Abdullahi who is the Deputy Speaker of the Taraba State House of Asxssembly thanked the State Governor for giving them the rare opportunity to serve the State in that capacity and pledged to justify the conference reposed on them.
In his wellcome address, Chairman of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Hamman Adama Tukur thanked the State Government for providing all the needs of the Board and for sponsoring a hundred Pilgrims to the Holy land.
