Taraba PDP gets new executives

New Chairman PDP Taraba State, Abubakar Bawa

The Taraba State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has elected new officials to ran the Affairs of the party for the next four years.

During the State Congress held at the Jolly Nyameh Stadium Jalingo Alhaji Abubakar Bawa from Sardauna Local Government in the Central Zone of the State was elected Chairman, Comrade Obidah Bitrus from the Northern Zone as Vice Chairman, Barrister Siman Musa Istifanus from the Southern Zone as Secretary and Danladi Ahmadu as Treasurer, amongst others.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Agbu Kefas, who was a former Chairman of the Party reflected on the unique challenges and opportunities that come with party leadership.

The Governor urged the new Officials to priorities reconciliation and unity in the Party stressing their importance for the continued cohersion and success of the Party in Taraba State.

He expressed gratitude to the outgoing Caretaker Committee for their service reminding the new officials that their election is a significant trust placed in them, urging them to work diligently to uphold the legacy of the party.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, expressed his appreciation to Governor Kefas and other key stakeholderscof the Party for their support and assured the party that under his leadership, the principles of unity and discipline would be central to maintain the strong standing of the PDP in the state.

In his remarks, the outgoing Acting Chairman, Elder Nuhu Abeh advised the new leadership to align with the leadership style of Governor Kefas and support his developmental initiatives for the State.

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Major General Aminu Bande praised the peaceful conduct of the election and commended Governor Kefas for his role in maintaining the stability of the Party in the State.

The newly elected Executive members were sworn in by the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice for Taraba State, Hon. Barr Yakubu Maikasuwa, SAN.
