Vice President Shettima, Kebbi Governor Idris, others attend funeral prayers of late Emir of Zuru

Vice President, Kashim Shettima led the Federal Government delegation to the burial of the late Emir of Zuru, Rtd. Major-General Muhammadu Sani Sami, Gomo II, who died last Saturday in a Hospital in London at the age of 81.

The departed Monarch was interned at his private residence in Zuru this Friday, with military honour, attended by thousands of mourners, including Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris.

The Chief Imam of Zuru Central Mosque, Sheikh Suleiman Muhammad led the funeral prayer immediately after the Friday prayers.

The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar led other traditional rulers to the funeral of the revered Zuru Emir.

Among them were the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, representative of the Emir of Gwandu, as well as the Emirs of Argungu, Yauri, Zamfaran-Anka and Gummi.

Condoling the family, Vice President Kashim Shettima, prayed Allah to grant mercy to the late Emir and admit him into the Garden of Bliss, Aljannah Firdausi, in the Hereafter.

Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris paid similar tribute to the family.
