Cross River Labour Party governorship candidate, Ogar Osim
By Akpan David, Calabar
Labour Party governorship candidate in Cross River State, Ogar Osim has said that they are in the governorship race to win and form a new government in the state.
He has also insisted that they expect other parties to collapse their structures into LP, and not for others to expect them to do so.
Osim spoke to Journalists at the NUJ Press Centre Calabar.
According to him, they have gone very far in their mobilisation, and their support and membership bases have tremendously increased.
He added that unlike the belief of many, in the state, they have consolidated, and structures in all the 196 wards and in the 18 local council chapters.
“We are in a very serious governorship business. It is not a fluke. Our party is in this race to win. LP will form the next government in Cross River State.
“It is therefore unthinkable that anyone should expect us to collapse our structures in all the 18 councils of the state and 196 wards to anybody. Rather we are waiting for them to collapse theirs. We are integrating and ready for government House.”
Osim said, if the people elect him as next Governor in March 2023, his government will focus on unity, enhancing the potentials which inundate he state and will be participatory by all segments of the peoples.
He dismissed the argument that he being one from the Cross River Central senatorial District should have supported the Southern District whose turn it is.
“I will not be governor for any part but all parts of the state. The argument should rather be for competence and what blueprint a candidate comes with.”
