A chieftain and governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for Kaduna State, Alhaji Shuaibu Idris Mikati, has said the needed state a pragmatic leader that would bring development to the people.
In a statement emailed to Apex News, Alhaji Mikati made the remark speaking to newsmen in Kaduna on Saturday.
He announced that he has accepted the call to contest for Kaduna State Governship in 2019.
He said he has all it takes to provide good servant leadership.
“Kaduna State need a purposeful leadership to move forward. Maybe it’s because I am not in government but our problems lies in implementation,” Mikati said, regretting lack of foresight by some political leaders.
“The Mikati Movement has a blueprint that has taken care of most of the challenges confronting Kaduna State and how it can be tackled.
“My blueprint has been in circulation since 2007. The desire to serve my people is not born out of selfish interest. We want to move our state forward,” Mikati added.
He called on the people of Kaduna to join the Mikati Movement for a better state.
“Issues of security, illiteracy, division, poverty, poor educational infrastructure, empowerment, health and human capital development must be taken seriously. God created us to worship him and help others,” Mikati said while urging the PDP delegates to rally round him.
