Chairman of Bauchi State-owned Premier League outfit, Wikki Tourists FC, Alhaji Balarabe Yusuf Douglas has lauded the performance of his players in the just-concluded Nigeria Professional Football League Season #npfl 2021/22.
He was speaking to Sports Journalists on the team’s performance where Wikki Tourists finished tenth on the table with 52 points.
While recalling how the team struggled to escape relegation during the last 2021/2022 season, Balarabe Douglas said that the players, Technical crew, Supporters, Sports Journalists and other stakeholders made meaningful contributions to what the Club was able to achieve in this Season and therefore deserved commendation.
He paid special salutation to the Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed for his financial and moral support to the Club that greatly motivated them.
He therefore reiterated the commitment of the Management to pursue vigorously the programmes of the Club for next season which include targeting a Continental ticket.
The Chairman however debunked rumours that the Technical Adviser, Kabiru Dogo is leaving the Club saying that the gaffer signed a 2 year contract and he has never discussed such an issue with the Club.
Douglas added that the management and the Technical Adviser have already started mapping out strategies for next Season.
The Club Chairman then revealed that some players that will be injected into the team for the new season have been pencilled down and discussions with them almost concluded.
He used the medium to solicit for more support, prayers and understanding from all and sundry, promising to continue doing their best until the desired result is achieved by the club.
