Kebbi APC chieftain drags social media infuencer to court over defamation

Kebbi State APC Chieftain, Ciso Nayaya, has filed a complaint at Am bursa Upper Sharia Court in Kebbi State against Mubarak Sani, a social media influencer, seeking redress over character assassination.
The complainant explained that he was disheartened when a video created by Mubarak Sani alleging that the Politician had misappropriated funds Governor Nasir Idris donated to some people in Ambursa town went viral.
He said in the video Mubarak circulated, one Umar na Umar, a beneficiary of the donated funds, claimed the party chieftain gave him nothing while ten thousand naira was already in his his possesses as the records showed.
Nayaya explained that the money under discussion was a gift from Governor Idris to the group of people who usually stationed themselves by the roadside in Ambursa to welcome the Governor while passing through the area as a mark of respect, streaming that the funds were disbursed accordingly.
The defendant, Mubarak Sani, could not present any reason that led to the circulation of the video and neither did he respond to the demands of the complainant seeking the court to compell the defendant to pay him defamation damages.
The presiding judge, Muhammad Bands, however afterwards adjourned the case to Thursday the 20th of August for Judgement, warning both parties to restraint from any action that would disturb the peace of Anbursa.
Shortly after leaving the court premisses, Nayaya urged his supporters to maintain law an order, disclosing a donation of two thousand bundles of wrappers to women in Am bursa, Lagga and Ujariyo wards.
