Ortom, a former Governor of Benue State who was a key figure in the division that befell the PDP before the 2023 general elections supported Mr. Peter Obi who came 3rd in the elections. At the moment, he has been telling the world that he is behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for 2027 elections.
However, a revelation came when the Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress NDC, Mr. Peter Obi came to Benue and was seen driving in Mr. Samuel Ortom’s Sports Utility,
Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number ABUJA: GWA 608 BT.
A basic check on through Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) vehicle information records linked the vehicle to Samuel Ortom. The vehicle was registered in his name and associated with his Judges Quarters address in Makurdi. The report also identified the vehicle’s chassis details, application date and other registration information.

It was gathered that Ortom had sent the vehicle to welcome Obi at the civilian wing of the Air force Base airport, Makurdi.
Recalled that last Tuesday, Mr. Peter Obi was in Benue State but was prevented by hoodlums from proceeding to visit the places he had intended to visit.
The Presidential Candidate accused Governor Hyacinth Alia of sponsoring the blockage of the road to prevent him from visiting Yelewata to commensurate with family members of the victims of the pogrom that happened in 2025.
