Governor Soludo celebrates Bishop Ezeokafor at 74, commends service to God, humanity

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has congratulated the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor, on the occasion of his 74th birthday.

In a goodwill message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo described Bishop Ezeokafor as a respected spiritual father and a consistent advocate for peace, unity and development.

The Governor praised the bishop for dedicating decades of his life to the service of God and humanity, noting that his priestly ministry and leadership have continued to make a positive impact on the Catholic faithful and the wider society in Anambra State and beyond.

Soludo recalled that Bishop Ezeokafor was ordained a priest in 1984 and later served as Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese between 2007 and 2011 before assuming his present position as the Bishop of Awka Diocese.

He described the bishop’s years of pastoral service as a testament to his wisdom, commitment and unwavering dedication to the growth of the Church and the promotion of peaceful coexistence.

According to the governor, Bishop Ezeokafor has remained a steady moral voice whose leadership has enriched both the faith community and the broader society.

“His Lordship remains a respected spiritual father, a consistent advocate for peace, unity, and development, and a steady moral voice whose leadership continues to enrich the faith community and the larger society in Anambra State and beyond,” Soludo said.

The governor wished the bishop a joyful birthday celebration and prayed for continued divine grace, good health, strength and wisdom as he advances in his service to God and humanity.

Soludo also expressed the hope that Bishop Ezeokafor would continue to witness many more fruitful and impactful years in the service of the Church and society.
