The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) is collaborating with the Office of the Technical Adviser to the President on Economic and Financial Inclusion, Office of the Vice President, to organise the Nigeria GovTech Conference and Awards 2026, as part of efforts to accelerate digital government and strengthen public-service delivery in Nigeria.
‎
‎The two-day conference is scheduled for October 13-14 2026, at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, under the theme: “Advancing Digital Government: Scaling Digital Public Infrastructure for Effective Governance and Service Delivery.”

‎This was contained in a statement by BPSR Head of Strategic Communication, Aliyu Umar.
‎
‎The conference is aimed at promoting the adoption of digital technologies to improve governance and public-service delivery, with the 2026 edition focusing on the role of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in strengthening government systems and promoting interoperability.
‎
‎It will also examine how digital infrastructure can expand digital financial services and secure payment systems, enhance inclusive access to public services and support more effective and responsive governance.
‎
‎A key component of the conference will be the intersection between digital government and financial inclusion, including how Nigeria’s fintech ecosystem can complement government efforts to expand financial inclusion and accelerate digital transformation.
‎
‎Under the proposed collaboration, the Office of the Technical Adviser to the President on Economic and Financial Inclusion is expected to support discussions on digital financial inclusion as a key component of Digital Public Infrastructure and facilitate the participation of relevant stakeholders within the financial inclusion ecosystem.
‎
‎The partnership will also provide an opportunity to showcase ongoing Federal Government initiatives and achievements in advancing economic and financial inclusion through digital solutions.
‎
‎The conference will bring together senior government officials, policymakers, technology leaders, development partners, financial-sector stakeholders, academics, private-sector innovators and other relevant actors to exchange experiences and explore practical approaches to scaling digital solutions across the public sector.
‎
‎The programme is expected to feature high-level discussions on digital public infrastructure, interoperability, financial inclusion and technology-driven public-service delivery, while providing a platform for stakeholders to identify opportunities for stronger collaboration and innovation.
‎
‎The GovTech Awards will further recognise outstanding digital transformation initiatives and contributions to the advancement of technology-driven governance and public-service delivery.
‎
‎Established in 2004, BPSR serves as the Federal Government’s central agency for initiating, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating public-service reforms across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). The Bureau also supports policy, institutional and governance reform processes.
‎
‎As part of its reform efforts, BPSR has developed digital tools to strengthen public-service reform implementation, including the National Strategy for Public Service Reforms (NSPSR) App, Knowledge Repository and Reform Tracker.
‎
‎The 2026 Nigeria GovTech Conference & Awards is therefore expected to deepen the conversation around digital government while strengthening partnerships between government, the financial ecosystem, technology innovators and development stakeholders in building a more efficient, inclusive and citizen-centred public service.
