Stop campaign of calumny — Kebbi APC elder Statesman tells opposition
By El-Yakub Dabai, Birnin Kebbi
The Chairman of the Kebbi APC Elders Forum, Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro, Zannan Gwandu, has warned the political class, particularly the opposition, to desist from politics of hatred and vilification against incumbent leaders
Speaking with journalists at Zauro, Zannan Gwandu expressed concern over the foul language employed by opposition parties in a bid to score cheap political points.
“The manner of uncouth remarks by the opposition against the APC-led government at the federal and state levels is uncharitable and amounts to blackmail,” he said.
“Politicians should focus on informing the electorate about their policies and manifestos to move the country forward,” he added.
He described some opposition members as professional blackmailers and mudslingers whose sole intent is to tarnish the popularity of those at the helm of affairs.
“In Kebbi, the opposition must take cognisance of the fact that Governor Nasir Idris has performed remarkably well and has earned the confidence of the populace for a second term in 2027,” he stated.
“Whatever dark patches they try to paint him with are null and void and inconsequential; such actions only reinforce his resolve to do more in uplifting the living standard of the people,” the APC elder said.
Zannan Gwandu also commended a philanthropist, the Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruq Aliyu Yaro, Enabo, for his immense financial and material support to the people of Kebbi State in the areas of economic empowerment and political awareness.
