Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has declared that his administration is not owing an outstanding payments to any contractor handling state projects.
Fintiri said any contractor who claimed there is any outstanding payment should say so noting that any project not executed on schedule will not be tolerated.
The governor made the remarks while inspecting the ongoing construction of the Adamawa State Ultra-Modern Stadium and the new National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp.
Governor Fintiri said his administration has constitutionally met its financial obligations to contractors to ensure uninterrupted project delivery as the inspection is aimed at assessing the progress and quality of work, reaffirming his administration’s determination to complete all major capital projects before the end of its tenure.
The noted that the prompt payment of contractors reflects the government’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure while eliminating unnecessary delays in project execution. He expressed satisfaction with the pace and standard of works on both project sites and urged contractors to sustain the momentum and ensure the projects are completed before the September deadline.
Addressing journalists after inspection, he said he is determined to leave behind a legacy of modern infrastructure that will enhance the welfare of the people and accelerate the socio-economic development of the State.
According to the Governor, the ultra-modern stadium would promote sports development, youth engagement, and talent discovery, while the permanent NYSC orientation camp would provide a conducive environment for the training and welfare of corps members posted to the state.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prudent management of public resources, transparency, accountability, and the delivery of projects that will have a lasting impact on the lives of Adamawa residents. He was accompanied on the inspection tour by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta; the Chief of Staff, Dr. Edgar Amos Sunday; the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Auwal Tukur; and other senior government officials.
