The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB) has introduced a new arrangement that allows candidates to upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes, with verification done directly with the examination bodies responsible for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, beginning with the West African Examinations Council(WAEC).
According to the Board, the initiative is part of its renewed commitment to making services easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.
A statement signed by JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said the new system was designed to reduce unnecessary visits to Computer Based Test (CBT)centres, long queues and manual processes by placing candidate ease of service delivery at the centre of its operations.
It explained that under the new arrangement, candidates can upload their O’Level results from home while the Board undertakes direct verification of such results with the issuing examination bodies.
JAMB explained further that the integration of its eFacility platform with the examination bodies will enable results to be verified directly against the examination body’s records before they are downloaded into a candidate’s profile.
The Board noted that the development also addresses challenges associated with manual O’Level result uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up paper results, presentation of unverified or fraudulent results, and errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades.
To access the service, candidates are expected to first visit buyresultsverificationcode.ng, enter their National Identification Number and click verify NIN.
JAMB added that the candidates will then select the number of sittings and the appropriate examination body or bodies before proceeding.
It explained further that candidates will be required to enter their email address and GSM number and make payment through the payment gateway using a debit card or bank transfer.
After successful payment, they will provide examination details including examination number, examination series and examination year, after which their result or results for the number of sittings selected will be verified and a Verification Code will be issued.
“For the upload stage, candidates are to send VERIFY followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. The result will then be uploaded and a notification sent to the candidate. For those with two sittings, a notification will be sent to visit their profile on eFacility.
“On the eFacility dashboard, candidates should click 2026 UTME O’Level Upload, enter their Verification Code, and their two verified results will be displayed.
“From there, candidates are to select the required subjects, ensuring a minimum of five subjects and a maximum of nine subjects are chosen, and that no subject is selected more than once.
“After clicking Apply the O’Level Results, candidates will receive a notification confirming successful submission,” JAMB explained.
The Board stated that the verification service provides candidates with a convenient alternative, especially during periods of high patronage and network challenges at CBT centres.
The Board said the initiative reflects the commitment of the sixth Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Segun Aina, to a more customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery system.
It added that the Board will continue to deploy technology and collaborate with relevant examination and government agencies to make its services simpler, safer and more accessible to candidates.
