This observation was made by a major stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Managing Director of the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority (SRRBDA)Alhaji Abubakar Mallam Shettima Gwandu
Speaking when he received the Kebbi State Governor’s Media Team at the weekend during a nationwide advocacy tour on the administration of Governor Idris, Gwandu said the Governor’s leadership qualities centred on social justice, fairness, equity, patriotism and genuine commitment to positive transformation are responsible for the growing call for continuity of his stewardship beyond 2027.
According to him, Governor Idris is being celebrated across Kebbi State for unprecedented socio-economic development in all sectors, which has changed the development narrative of the state.
He listed the sectors to include infrastructure, education, agriculture, healthcare delivery, economic empowerment for women and youth, as well as security, where the Governor has demonstrated sensitivity and commitment to protecting lives and property.
At the national level, Gwandu noted that the governor, a nationally acknowledged unionist, has succeeded in establishing strong partnerships with the relevant stakeholders in the nation’s governance and economic development.
“His humility, compassion, sincerity of purpose, generosity, and above all, blessings from Allah have made him a symbol of desired national unity,” he said.
Shetima Abubakar Mallam declared, “.without fear of contradiction, i make bold to say that in the history of the present democratic dispensation since 1999, Comrade Nasir Idris is the only Governor that brought together all the successful political actors including former Governors, ministers and members of the National Assembly under the All Progressive Congress and are committedly ensuring the success of the his administration and the party in general “
The Managing Director further revealed that the Governor’s cordial relationships have attracted numerous benefits to the state, including viable socio-economic development projects and federal appointments for patriotic indigenes committed to the state’s development, including himself.
He added that the national leadership of the APC has adjudged Governor Idris as one of the best-performing governors, while his colleagues in the Progressive Governors’ Forum have expressed absolute confidence in his political resilience and capacity.
Describing the media team as a bridge-builder between the government and the people, Gwandu charged members to sustain the documentation and publicity of the Governor’s achievements, respond to misinformation with facts, put him on his deserved place of pride in the nation’s political landscape “and not be distracted by what he called the desperate rantings of the opposition.
Earlier, the leader of the team and Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, said the visit was aimed at showcasing the giant strides of Governor Idris and engaging relevant stakeholders in the governance of the state.
