A two term Member in the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Itas/ Gadau Constituency, Hon.Yusuf Abdullahi Itas, has announced his defection from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Hon. Abdullahi Itas, Chairman of the House Committee on Petitions, made his defection public during plenary presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Jamilu Umaru Dahiru.
He attributed his decision to political considerations, alleging that the APM had replaced his name as its candidate for Itas/Gadau Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The alleged that the decision taken by the State APM in Itas/Gadau is not favourable to Itas-Gadau constituency’s political agreement.
The lawmaker expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly for the cordial working relationship he had enjoyed with them, as well as to the APM for providing him with the platform to serve.
