All is now set for this year’s Annual Encounter Conference organised by The Transforming Church (TTC) Abuja with thousands of people from all walks of life expected at the spiritual encounter.
The free all-night event, from 8pm November 6 to 5am November 7, 2026, is the 10th edition in the series. This year’s theme is “El Ezer” meaning “God, My Helper.”
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, The Founder and Lead Pastor, The Transforming Church (TTC), Abuja, Rev. Dr. Sam Oye, said the aim of the Encounter is to promote unity, hope and prayer for Nigeria.
He said: “We’ll be attracting people from all over the region. Last year, we had over 5000 people, about 6000 people, gathered here in an atmosphere of unity. That’s the first thing we try to promote.”
Rev. Oye said: “…we [will] bring down the walls that divides us, because we believe that a country where people can come together, not under any partisan politics, political parties name, where people from APC, PDP, SDC, NDC will come together first as Nigerians and as people who honour God, we’re able to worship together, join our hands together, forget political matters, and all of that. It unites us, so it’s going to be a night of unity.”
According to him, beyond unity, the Encounter is a night of hope noting that Nigerians have been dealing with a lot.
He pointed out that the country has been going through a lot of transformative processes and told that the government is committed to reforming the country.
Rev. Oye said reformation brings about hardship which can be cushioned by wise approach that leadership can put in place.
He pointed out that Encounter brings Nigeria to place where hope is inspired and ignited again in people.
According to him, the event is also a time for prayers for Nigeria and Nigerians, whereby prayers are not only for individuals but for the country as a collective entity.
“So, the encounter night has become a beehive of activity for people every year. Leaders from different walks of life, people like government, business people are all going to be gathering. Pastors of other churches are all coming down to this great event. It is our open prayer that through this year’s encounter, above all things, that people be able to experience the help of God,” he stressed.
