Cross River Governor Otu plans big for golf

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has disclosed that his administration has plans to change the fortunes of golf in the state.

The governor spoke when he teed off late Pastor Ekpeyong Ita golf tourney in the state.

The golf kitty was organised by Nyoki Ita, son of the late Pastor Ekpeyong Ita in honour his late father.

Represented by Commissioner for sports Mrs Agnes Atsu, Otu commended Ita for pulling crowds of top golfers to Calabar to honour his late father.

The governor who teed off the big event amid cheers from the crowd formally unveiled hole 5 at Calabar Golf Club.

He described the late Pastor as a great man who positively touched and impacted the lives of many gold in the state.
Captain of the Calabar Golf Club, Major General AM Sabo Alao lauded Ita for not only acquiring hole 5 but also introducing golfing activities in to his late father’s burial ceremony.

Welcoming the golfers, Ita described his father as a pace setter, informing that the memorial golf tourney will hold annually.
