Farmers in Idemili North/South LGs receive agro inputs for wet farming season

Farmers in Idemili North and South Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Anambra State have received agricultural inputs for the wet farming season.
The farm inputs include high yield cassava stems and tomatoes, fertilisers and maize seedlings all distributed through the Ministry of Agriculture.
Addressing the farmers at the two LGAs Headquarters in Ogidi and Ojoto, the team leader, a Special Assistant (SA) to the Governor on Agriculture, Dr. Obidi Ifejika said that the distribution of high yield inputs were a major step taken by the present administration to assist the farmers in the State.
Dr. Ifejika urged the farmers to make proper use of the inputs and called on Ndi Anambra to see agriculture as a primary means of achieving food sufficiency in the State.
Receiving the team at Idemili North LGA, the Transition Committee Chairman (TC), Mr. Raphael Nnabuife represented by his Deputy, Mr. Edwin Okonkwo commended the government for its support to the farmers.
The Idemili South TC Chairman, Mr. Don Unachukwu praised Governor Willie Obiano for always remembering the farmers, especially now that prices of agricultural commodities were high.
The Head of Department Agric Extension, Idemili North LGA, Mrs. Rita Obidiozor said that the distribution would help the farmers to achieve bountiful harvests.
Idemili South, Head of Department Agric Extension Mr. Mike Chike, expressed satisfaction at the gesture, saying that the State made great impact in agriculture.
One of the beneficiaries from Idemili North, Mr. Victor Egbe said that the inputs would help the farmers to achieve food security.
Two other beneficiaries from Idemili South, Mrs. Ify Odaba and Mr. Chukwuemeka Ejikeme thanked the Governor for his love for Anambra farmers.
