Former Kebbi Governor, Senator Aliero supports farmers with tractors for wet season farming

As farmers started land clearing in preparation for this year’s wet season farming, Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero has distributed tractors with complete implements for free service to the farmers in Kebbi Central Senatorial District.
At the distribution ceremony held at Labana Farms, Aliero, first batch of four tractors were given to Gwandu, Bunza, Jega and Aliero local governments and are to be managed by a committee of trustees appointed.
Senator Aliero made it abundantly clear that ” the tractors are to provide free service to all interested farmers in the local government regardless of their political affiliation”.
He explained that the objective of his farmers support scheme is to improve the economic well-being of the people through utilisation of the agricultural potential of their areas.
He further announced that arrangement are being made for the distribution of the second batch of the tractors for the remaining local governments.
In his address earlier, a Commissioner in the Federal Character Commission, Alhaji Atiku Bunu gave details of the moderlities for the usage of the tractors ” farmers interested in the service of the tractors are to provide diesel and feeding allowance for the tractors operators “
It could be recalled that two months ago, Senator Aliero distributed ten farming bulls and plough to ten farmers in each of the eight local governments in Kebbi Central Senatorial District.
