Gombe Governor, Inuwa hails Federal Executive Council for approving establishment of Pen Resource University

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has praised the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for approving the issuance of provisional license for the establishment of Pen Resource University,  Gombe.
The Governor,  while expressing delight over the development,  said that the Buhari-led Federal Executive Council deserves commendation for granting the approval, noting that it would go along way in improving access to quality education for students in the state. 
He said that, “I commend the Federal Executive Council under the leadership of our dear President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR for granting Pen Resource University Gombe the approval to commence academic activities as a fully licensed private tertiary institution. I’m highly delighted about this development”. 
“The establishment of the university will no doubt provide opportunities  to teeming young lads,   improve access to quality tertiary education and enhance enrollment of our students into  institutions of higher learning”,  the Governor said. 
Governor Inuwa, who also congratulated the founder of the university, Dr. Sani Jauro and his management team for the attainment of this feat, assured the Pen Resource University  of his government’s support for the smooth take-off of the institution , while pledging to maintain close synergy with the institution for the benefit of the people of the state. 
He noted that the institution would no doubt contribute to human capital development of not only Gombe state, but the nation in general. 
According to him, “the importance of the presence of the university in the state cannot be over emphasized. It will support the already existing ones in providing high-level skills necessary for every labor market as well as training for teachers, doctors, engineers and  entrepreneurs who would develop the capacity and skills to drive the economy of the state and the country in general”.  
Recall that Gombe State government,  through the Ministry of Higher Education had provided necessary guidance and advice to the proposed university in the build-up to the processes of recognition and licensing of the institution as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General ( Press Affairs), Government House Gombe.
