Agents for Citizens – Driven Transformation (ACT) has implored Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and the media to partner in creating awareness about the activities of CSOs for a better society. ACT’s Component Manager, Mrs. Hafsat Mustapher, made the plea at a two-day cross States/Regional Reflection Session for its partners from Plateau and Rivers States.

Mustpher further stated at the session in Continental Hotel, Lagos, that media reports of the contributions of CSOs will not only impact society positively but also enhance the latter’s credibility as drivers of change for sustainable development.

Mrs Mustapher said when the media create the platforms for synergy and visibility, the work of CSOs become more impactful; and stakeholders more aware.

She said the ‘cross States/regional Reflection Sessions’ are aimed at growing the knowledge base of their partner CSOs.

States/regions are paired on their activities; and peer- review the social impact of their work in the selected states.

The ACT, she disclosed, is also helping Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) understand the complex regulatory environment of their work.

ACT is funded by the European Union to bolster CSOs drive credible and sustainable development, was launched in September 2019 in Abuja.
