We were told to be the figurehead in the near future. Running to school with heavy bags on our shoulders. Carrying piles of books like a well booked library. Running to school because we were scared not to be late and beaten, flinging our bags in lockers and setting for assembly for instructions of the day. Hmmm……. Life!!!!!
We were full of life and hoping to become the future leaders of tomorrow. The assertion that children are the future leaders of tomorrow was ascertained and backed by leaders of yesterday and was made their popular catch-phrase. Unfortunately, many of them are still romancing and clinging to the ladder of power. What pity and shameful
Education that ought to be an illuminating light has been bastardized. The leaders of yesterday who promised to hand over the baton of power to us are still dictating and navigating our lives even though many of them are elbow to palm distance to their graves. Their children attended the best schools outside the shores of Nigeria , with head high coming to occupy a big office. Hmmmm….. sons and daughters of the GENERALS. The poor man’s child is here attending a gathering called school, sitting on stones with their parents lamenting on how to pay school fees to see only if luck might cross their families.
God help us. #bleedingheart
