Recess, Umrah delays confirmation of Katagum as Bauchi deputy governor

The confirmation of Alhaji Audu Sule Katagum as the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State will not take place soon as members of the State of House of Assembly are on recess.
The former deputy governor, Nuhu Gidado resigned three weeks ago saying there was no job satisfaction and waning enthusiasm.
The resignation brought to three senior officials who left the government. First, in December 2017, was the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Shehu Ningi, followed by the deputy caretaker chairman of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, Munnir Yisin.
Also, Apex News gathered that many of the legislators had gone for Umrah (Lesser hajj) to Saudi Arabia and those left behind might not form a quorum to confirm the nomination.
It is most likely the confirmation will be done after Ramadan probably to end on July 15.
The Information Officer, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Mr Lamara Chinade, had said the governor had communicated to the house about the nomination.
The state Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Umar Sade, said Governor Mohammed Abubakar nominated Audu Sule Katagum as the deputy governor after due consultation with stake holders.
