Taraba Assembly confirms 21 commissioner nominees, ready for inauguration

The Taraba State House of Assembly has confirmed all the 21 Commissioner nominees presented to it by the State Governor Dr Kefas Agbu.

Three of the Commissioners are from Wukari Local Government, two each from Jalingo, Karim Lamido, Sardauna and Takum while Zing, Gashaka, Donga, Bali, Lau, Gassol, Ardo Kola ,Ibi, Ussa and Kurmi have one Commissioner each while Yorro Local has no Commissioner.

The run down of the Commissioners and their portfolios are Engineer Noami Tanko Agbu, Ministry of Energy and Economics, Dr. Sarah Enoch Adi Finance, Budget and Economic Planning and Yakubu Maikasuwa (SAN), Justice from Wukari Local Government, Dr. Augustina Godwin Education, Mrs. Zainab Usman, Information and Re-orientation from Jalingo, Karim Lamido has Professor Nicholas Oliver Namessan, Agriculture and Food Security and Mrs. Mary Sinjen Women Affairs and Child Development, those from Sardauna Local Government are Mr. Peter George Commerce and Industries, Mr. Gideon Nonso, Digital Economy and Inovation, while Mr. Joseph Joshua Youths and Sports Development and Yakubu S Yakubu, Transport Development are from Takum Local Government.

The Local Governments with one Commissioner each are Zing Mrs. Aishat Abdul’aziz Barde, Enviroment and Climate Change, Hon. Titus Joseph Dagombe Heritage and Eco-Tourism Gashaka, Dr. Bodiya Bansheya, Health, Donga, Mr. Habu James Philips, Cooperative and Poverty and Alliviation, Bali.

Lau Local Government has Julius Peter Vau, Rural Development, Mr. Usman Muslimu Abdullahi, Science and Technology Gassol, Hon. Saviour Bazolig Noku, Special Duties and Social Development, Ardo Kola, Philister Ibrahim Musa, Social Justice and Re’orientation Ussa, Daniel Ishaya, Water Management and Aquatic Affairs, Ibi, Comrade Joseph
Luka, Works and Infrastructure Development, Ibi.

The Speaker, Taraba State House of Assembly, John Kisito Bonzena

One interesting aspect about the crop of the new Executive Council in Taraba State is that it is composed mostly of youths, highly educated comprising Professors, holders of Masters Degrees and has five women which is the first of its kind since the creation of the state in1999.
