The Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, has felicitated with his former colleague and predecessor at the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. George Daika, on the occasion of his birthday.
Senator Lalong described Rt. Hon. Daika as a dependable political associate, committed statesman and a man whose contributions to the political and democratic development of Plateau State, particularly Plateau South Senatorial District, remain worthy of commendation.
The Senator recalled their longstanding political relationship which dates back to 1999, when both men were elected into the Plateau State House of Assembly to represent their respective constituencies.
He noted that their political partnership has remained strong and enduring over the years, anchored on a shared commitment to the progress and development of their people.
Senator Lalong further recalled that he succeeded Rt. Hon. Daika as Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly during the administration of former Governor, Chief Joshua Chibi Dariye, describing their period of service in the Assembly as one that provided a strong foundation for their continued political collaboration.
According to Senator Lalong, their common identity as sons of Plateau South Senatorial District has further strengthened their commitment to advancing the interests of the people of the zone, both at the state and national levels.
He particularly appreciated Rt. Hon. Daika for his unwavering support for his political aspirations, including his 2027 re-election bid to the Senate, noting that Daika has consistently demonstrated his support at various fora. He described such solidarity as a reflection of their enduring friendship, mutual respect and shared belief in the need for continuity in quality representation.
Senator Lalong said he remains grateful for Rt. Hon. Daika’s confidence, encouragement and partnership, assuring him that their collective commitment to the development of Plateau South and Plateau State remains unwavering.
While wishing the former Speaker many more years of good health, wisdom and fulfilment, Senator Lalong prayed that God Almighty will continue to bless Rt. Hon. George Daika and grant him greater opportunities to contribute to the advancement of his people and the state.
