Governor Radda inspects newly procured mobile workshop truck for agricultural mechanisation
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has inspected the newly procured mobile workshop truck acquired to provide basic technical support for the state’s agricultural mechanisation programme
Speaking during inspection, Governor Radda said the mobile workshop truck would provide the basic technical support needed to strengthen the state’s agricultural mechanisation programme and keep agricultural machinery operational.
Governor Radda said the truck would be stationed at the Katsina State Agricultural Mechanisation Centre, where it would serve as a mobile repair unit for the 400 tractors procured by the administration.
He explained that whenever any of the tractors develops a mechanical fault anywhere across the state, the mobile workshop would be deployed from the centre to the affected location to carry out the necessary repairs and maintenance.
The Governor said the initiative would help reduce equipment downtime and ensure that the tractors remain operational, particularly during critical farming seasons.

The Coordinator of the Agricultural Development Unit in the Governor’s Office, Dr. Suleiman Umar, who oversees KASPA and the Agricultural Mechanisation Programme, said the procurement was also aimed at improving the technical capabilities of men and women working in the state’s mechanisation sector.
He said the initiative would further strengthen the state government’s resolve to make agricultural mechanisation more attractive to the farming populace, thereby remarkably reducing drudgery.
The mobile workshop is expected to facilitate timely repairs and strengthen the technical capacity required to sustain the state’s investment in mechanised agriculture.
Those in attendance were the Deputy Governor, Hon. Faruk Lawal; Chief of Staff, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Aliyu Lawal Shargalle; Managing Director, Katsina State Irrigation Development Agency; and some members of the Katsina State Executive Council.
