His Eminence our leader, Sultan MUHAMMAD SAAD ABUBAKAR CFR, min, Ameerul Mumeenin, Sarkin Musulmi, Lamido Julbe, the President General Of Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (SCIA), President General Jamaatul Nasril Islam (JNI), the 20th Sultan of Sokoto have attained on November 2nd 2026, @20 golden years on the exalted throne of our magnificent forefathers – a glorious feat of two decades of leading the Muslim Ummah attained, by the grace of Almighty Allah (SWT) by only 2 previous Sultans: His father – Sultan Abubakar III, the 17th Sultan of Sokoto (RahimahiLLahu) (1938-1988 -@50) and his great, great grand father Sultan Muhammadu Bello,(RahimahiLLahu) the 2nd Ameerul Mumeenin son of Shehu Usman Fodiyo (1817-1837-@20).
Downloaded from the dynastic DNA of his forebears and transcribed in his Niya, speeches, actions and interventions, SULTAN MUHAMMAD SAAD ABUBAKAR CFR, mni, has had the opportunity of clocking 20 years of eventful and purposeful leadership in Islam, Peace Building, National and global Human development.
During these 20 glorious and purposeful years of our great leader , SULTAN MUHAMMAD SAAD ABUBAKAR CFR, mni, the unifying voice of the Muslim Ummah and the convening and unifying authority of the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria had crafted, initiated and delivered ;
- Reforms and consolidation of the Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA)
- Leadership, Transformation and Consolidation of Jamaatul Nasril Islam. (JNI)
- Advancement and promotion of Islamic education, scholarship and research for national and international peace and prosperity.
- Collaborative leadership of Traditional and Religious institutions in Nigeria, Africa and the World.
- Promotion and rapid development of Islamic Social Finance: Zakat, Waqf, Qadr Hasan and Sadaqatu Jariya and their application in Education, Health, Social services, Poverty reduction, Environment, Job creation etc,etc.
- Promotion of traditional Almajiri and Alternate education reforms and their formalization to ensure dignity, inclusion, child welfare and protection of all children.
- Promotion of functional and inclusive Girl child education.
- Promotion of investment in development of Skills based education – Functional Education.
- Promotion of Primary Healthcare, Child and Maternal Health Development.
- Promotion of cordial Muslim- Christian and other interreligious relations in Nigeria, Africa and the World.
- Research, documentation, conservation, translation and codification of the books/writings of Shehu Usman Dan-Fodiyo and founders of Sokoto Caliphate.
- Digitalization of Sokoto Caliphate literature and information system. An E-Library with QR Code for Shehu Usmanu Fodiyo Books and founders of Sokoto caliphate in Arabic, Hausa and English established.
- Promotion of Agriculture, Livestock and their value chain development.
- Building National, Regional, Continental and Intercontinental bridges of peace, unity, conflict resolution, human rights, social justice and human development.
- The exalted Time Keeper of key dates of the Islamic Hijra calendar with their operationalization and governance from Muharram, Ramadan and through to Dhul Hijjah.
